Huasina Cayahía! (Good day)
My name is Amalia Alvarez, descendent of Doña Liberata Ckatur of Lickana. Some call me an artist, I always say that I’m an anti-racist activist that create comics. Normally I work in the genres of social realism and satire, and the themes of my comics mainly focus on racism/antiracism, representativity, feminism, gender, migration, social issues, and class. Often through an intersectional perspective.
It’s more important that you see my works than that you know exactly when and where I was born. I am the result of a history from my parents from Abyayala. The nation/civilisation I come from is called Lickanantay, from the driest desert in the world. That’s all you need to know.
